MedSoc 2016-17

WHO ARE WE?

This is The Skinners' School MEDSOC website. The Medical Society is open every Tuesday lunch time in S8 for Skinners students in year 11 and 12. The main reason we opened a website was to post information and power points from the talks on Tuesday. We would also like to welcome all other year 11, 12 and 13 students who are interested in doing medicine. The information on this website can be used by anyone who wants extra information on a variety of topics, as seen on the left. In the Medical Society at Skinners we have 4 students in the upper sixth: Oscar, Sam, Vinny and Tom. We will be creating the power points and putting together information for this website. If you want to contact us, you can e-mail me, Sam, as I edit the wedbsite at samuelthomasking@hotmai.co.uk
For all year 11, 12 and 13 students who want quick, reliable and detailed information on a variety of aspects for a UK medical application.

WHATS HERE?
All British Medical Schools
Firstly, any A-level notes will be posted up on the website. We all do OCR Chemistry and Biology and are currently finishing the course this school year. Some of us also do Edexcel Maths, AQA Geography and OCR Physics. Summary information on all the British medical schools will also be available. This will mainly revolve around entry requirements, but I will also include the type of course and a bio of the University etc. Useful resources are also very important and good reading material will be essential for successes. Medical News is also an essential piece of knowledge that needs constant updating. With so much going on in the medical world, it’s an interesting and eye opening subject. Extra curriculum activities will also feature. This is what’ll make you beat anyone who is on the same level as you academically, hence its importance. Finally, all our weekly power points will be posted. Each should go up talk about extra subjects that I haven’t mentioned here. All of this can be found in much more detail in the side bar on the right. Also to note, throughout 2016/17, information will be regularly added to and updated to make sure it stays reliable and useful.
